In order to be considered for adoption you must:
- Be 21 years of age, or older.
- Have knowledge and consent of all adults living in your household.
- Have the landlords consent (if rental).
- Understand that SPCA of Connecticut has the right to deny your application.
There is no fee for filling out an application at the shelter or an event.
However, all advance or online applications require a $20 non-refundable application fee.
Advance applications may expedite or jumpstart the adoption process and may eliminate the need for making two trips to the shelter.
This fee does not guarantee availability or application approval. This fee is not part of the adoption fee. This fee is not refundable. You must be 21 years of age to complete an application. Once your application and fee have been received, we will contact you to discuss your application.
